A new optometry clinic has opened in Vestavia Hills.
Dr. Amy Herrington has opened Altadena Eye Care at 2409 Acton Road, Suite 161, in the Dolly Creek Station development.
Herrington is a graduate of the UAB School of Optometry who previously worked at Schaeffer Eye Center and remained at the practice after its acquisition by MyEyeDr in 2017.
She said the Covid-19 shutdown afforded her time for reflection, which led to the decision to launch her own practice.
“After contemplating how I would like to practice optometry, I decided it was time to move in a new direction. Being an independent practitioner will allow me to spend more time with each patient and to make my own practice decisions,” she said.
Wyatt Builds was the contractor, while Anne Marie Ellis, principal at Line Scale Form, was the architect.
Altadena Eye Care is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
